Kids ages 6 and up are welcome to participate in the 5K with a parent or guardian (in order to run the 5K, they must register for the race and have a parent or guardian sign the event waiver).

Kids Race
Bring the whole family to the "Oui" Run 5K! Our event features kids races for 
ages 3-7. 

  • Race distance for ages 3-5: 130-meter dash
  • Race distance for ages 6-7: 480-meter dash
  • The kid races will be run in heats according to age (ex. all three-year-olds will run together, all four-year-olds will run together, etc.)
  • All registered kids will receive a cotton t-shirt and race bib (kids will not receive technical running shirts).
  • The kids races will start on Rue Alain Weber (LFC private drive). All kids races will finish at the official event finish line! See race map here.

Parents, please accompany your kids to the start line!  Please note that there will be street closures and parking restrictions in the area prior to the kids' races, so please plan accordingly - we don't want your little ones to miss the start! Baby joggers, Strollers, pets, are not allowed during the race.

Registration Policy
All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
No registration on race day.

Race Shirt
All registered 5K runners will receive a technical race t-shirt with the official "Oui" Run 5K logo! All registered participants in the Kids Run will receive an official "Oui" Run Kids Race cotton t-shirt. Please note that while we have done our best to provide the correct t-shirt sizes, we cannot guarantee sizes. Merci for your understanding!

Packet Pick-Up/Goody Bag

Packets will be picked up at the Lycée Français de Chicago,  1929 W. Wilson Ave.

  • Thursday, Sept. 20 - 3:00 – 6:00pm
  • Friday, Sept. 21 - 3:00 – 6:00pm
  • Sunday, Sept. 23 (before the race) - 6:00 – 7:30am

Post-race French Breakfast 
There will be French food near the finish line following the 5K!

Gear Check
5K Runners ONLY; not available for Kids Race

Gun Time/ Chip Time Policy
The "Oui" Run 5K is using the Innovative Timing Systems RFID/Chip Timing. Timing devices will be distributed at Packet Pick-Up. 

The overall winner (for each sex) must be determined by actual order of finish/gun-time. At the races discretion, all other placing's may be determined by either actual order of finish/gun time or by chip time.

Course Time Limit:
Runners must be able to maintain a 20:00 minute/mile pace - from the start line to the finish line - to finish the course within the event 1-hour time limit. Runners who cannot maintain a 20:00 minute/mile pace will be asked to move to the sidewalks so that police can re-open traffic routes in a timely manner. Participant and spectator safety is a priority at the event.

Transportation and Parking
We strongly encourage carpooling, riding your bike or taking public transportation to the event. Neighborhood parking is limited.

The easiest way to access the race site is via the CTA brown line Damen stop (0.2 miles or approximately a three-minute walk to the start line and race site) or Montrose stop (0.4 miles or an approximate seven-minute walk to the start line). Visit www.transitchicago.com for more information.

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female runners in the following age groups: 14 & under / 15-19 / 20-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70 and over.  

All participants will receive a medal at the end of the race. 

Results will be posted by 
11:00am on race day. 

Weather Policy
The "Oui" Run 5K will take place in rain, snow or sunshine. If the event must be canceled due to dangerous weather conditions, runners will be notified on site, race day.

The "Oui" Run 5K will also abide by the Event Alert System (EAS), a color-coded method of quickly communicating to participants the potential for adverse weather conditions that can affect the race event. T
